    Hey hey,
Out girl/boy twins turn 18 in a couple of weeks. It’s been the quickest 18 years of our life. I went back to work when they were 5 months old. Because it took us 9 years to have them and several miscarriages, everything was a blessing and if I was having a bad day, I remembered that it was a stage and wouldn’t last long. Getting out the house every day for a walk was a must. Regardless of the weather. Plus, getting them into a schedule that suited us. I was a facilitator for the twins and multiples association in the UK. I used to hold meetings with expectant parents and answer their questions and hopefully put their minds at rest. It doesn’t matter what times you stick too. If you’d prefer your babies to be up later because you like longer lie ins, then fine. My husband and I wanted some time to ourselves every night so we put our children to bed early and got up early. I didn’t have any help but we coped. Four and a half years later, after a few miscarriages, we had another daughter. I found having a singleton was far more stressful. With twins it’s hard but you have no time to worry or think about stuff, you just do it. I felt guilty changing one diaper, feeding one and having time afterwards. I know it sounds stupid. You are a true inspiration. I love your honesty and how you help so many of us. Good luck xx

I have 8 kids as well. They are a little more spread out than yours: 2 years to 16 years. It’s gotten trickier as the olders have gotten even more busy and involved. I realize that I do a block schedule kind of thing (without calling it that) which totally helps me as well as prioritizing my time. And because we’re busy I try to get my other kids involved in each other’s activities. Often I take kids with me to High School soccer games and swim meets and choir concerts. And other times I leave them at home with a big sister or brother so that I can actually pay attention at the event. It’s a balancing act. The thing that helps me the most is trying to enjoy the good which then outweighs the hard…..and also to be okay with it feeling hard at times – because let’s be honest, it IS! But what a great ride – I love it!

Those are such great tips! And it’s so true, parenting really is hard, but it’s so worth it in the end! XOXO

I have heard that you can hire a night-time nanny to feed your babies all night long. I love my sleep, so if I had multiples, I think I’d hire somebody to feed my babies at night! That sounds like heaven to me…

Also, in the 3rd trimester of my last pregnancy, I bought one of those grabber things that old people use to pick things up off the ground. Game-changer!! Should have done it with the first!

Those are both really good ideas! Sleep is definitely such a nice luxury when you have new babies. And the grabber? Genius!!!
