Let’s be honest, potty training stinks. Literally. Having potty trained 3 of my 5 kiddos in the last 4 years, I am no stranger to the adventures of ditching diapers; and I have a handful of potty training hacks to make the experience less…crappy? (I couldn’t resist!)
Today’s Millennial Moms video is full of some of my best potty training hacks and tips! Keep reading because at the end of this post I lay out what I use, how I use it, and what you need to get rid of diapers for GOOD.
Quick reminder to subscribe to Millennial Moms if you haven’t already! I upload mom tips, advice, hacks, and general foolishness every-other Wednesday for your viewing enjoyment. And subscribe to my FunCheapOrFree YouTube Channel while you’re at it for my new weekly Vlog, Q&A’s, home tours, periscope videos, and other goodies.
Ok, so let’s get on with the video!

I hope my hacks help make your toddler’s transition a bit easier on them (and you!). Here’s more info on some of the items mentioned in the video.
First up –
What is a Squatty Potty? This crazy little stool is actually made to help adults do their “business” in a more natural squatting position. TMI, I know. Funny enough, we actually love it for potty training! It makes it easy for little feet to climb up and use the actual toilet so you can skip the nasty toddler toilets. Pick one up, and thank me later!

IllumiBowl is a night light… for your toilet! Yes it’s real, and yes it is total necessity around here! The light attaches to your toilet, and is motion activated. If someone comes in the bathroom at night, the light pops on so seeing where to “go” is easy! No more blinding middle-of-the-night bathroom light experiences for you! IllumiBowl is available on Amazon.

And of course, Pull-ups! This seems like a no-brainer, but don’t forget that by putting them on OVER underwear, you aren’t undoing any of the training…but you’re saving yourself (and aisle 5 at the grocery store…) potential messes. I like to get my pull-ups and diapers from Costco when they are on sale.

Well, those are my hacks! I hope what works for our family may help you on your potty training adventure, too! Remember, it’s a milestone you can’t rush! If it doesn’t work the first time, take a break, and try again later! I promise, they will get it eventually! Good luck!
