My favorite 3-ingredient homemade sidewalk chalk paint recipe to kill all those summer boredom blues!
This project is DANG easy. So easy, in fact, I was able to do the entire project while holding this little hunk-o-love.
Here's what you do:
Take 1C corn starch, and 1C water…and mix it up.
I had this happy little guy do it for me (that's how easy it is!).
Priya tried her hand at it…
…and yes, it went everywhere.
Then, you just add food coloring!
Hutch decided which jar would have which color…
…and Priya helped.
I put in a bunch of drops (the brighter the better!) and let the kids stir it up.
I chose to put the paint into my trusty baby food jars that I use for everything, but you could use whatever containers you have lying around.
I busted out a pack of dollar store paint brushes…
…gave them a bowl of water for washing out the brushes, and let them go at it!
The paint is watery-looking at first, but gets vibrant as it dries.
It does leave some chalky residue from the corn starch, but it washes off super easily.
When it rained, this mess was gone in no time.
I even had the kids try it on our stamped deck just to make sure it was safe for all y'alls.
(whoa, that “C” word again….)
