Sliced Steak Salad with Creamy Horseradish Dressing

Ingredients

  • 4-5 boneless beef steaks
  • Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 2-3 cups mixed greens
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 4 oz sliced white mushrooms
  • 4 oz crumbled gorgonzola cheese
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 1 cup candied pecans
  • 1 cup croutons

Horseradish Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ - ¾ cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ½ Tbsp raw horseradish
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Season steaks with Montreal steak seasoning and grill to the desired doneness. Allow to rest while preparing the rest of the salad and dressing. Slice right before adding to salad.
  • Chop lettuce and add to a bowl with the mixed greens, diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, red onion and croutons.
  • Crumble gorgonzola cheese and candied pecans on top, then drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

For Dressing

  • Whisk all ingredients together and chill until ready to serve.

Notes

This steak is really good leftover! If you expect to have leftovers, assemble your salads individually (versus mixing all the ingredients together) so any leftovers can be stored in the fridge. This will allow maximum crispness for your salad! Just heat up the steak and make your salad the same way you did the first go around.
