Nana's Buttermilk Syrup
A family recipe for the best buttermilk syrup you can use on almost anything.
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
In a large saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar and buttermilk. Stirring often, let come to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and baking soda, stir. Syrup will become foamy.
Let it rest for a few minutes. Serve warm, store leftovers in the fridge.
