Why Tuesday and Thursday are your new favorite days of the week…

You're gonna love Tuesdays and Thursdays!

As I mentioned in previous posts (and on Instagram) I'm working on THRIVING this year (#ThriveIn15). It's about working smarter, not harder. It's about soaking up every minute of every day, not trying to merely survive every day.

Part of thriving this year is becoming consistent at blogging again. If I had it my way, I would blog every day. All day. I would eat my computer, I love it so much! But at the end of the day my family comes first. (I mean, they are all pretty cute so can you blame me??) But I think I know how to get the best of both worlds.

I am now accepting out loud that I can't get a post out every day (waaaaah!). Instead of being sporadic with posting and always feeling guilty about going so long in between posts you can mark your calendars, tie a string around your finger, and set your cuckoo clock because…

You will now see consistent posts every Tuesday and Thursday!

I'm also planning to do:

  • At least 2 videos per month
  • At least 2 live Q&A's per month (which may or may not be part of the video quota above)
  • At least 1 live in-person event
  • More giveaways (even though I have mixed feelings about them, but hey! You asked for it!)

With that being said, YOU are the reason I'm doing all of this!

Is there anything YOU would like to see more of…see less of…hear more about…change, tweak, add, remove, or keep exactly the same? Let me know in the comments below!!

Summers tend to slow down a bit around here (since we're all outside playing, right?!) but I'm still going to try to keep up the momentum. Thanks for bearing with me as I figure out this whole “stay at home mom while still working kinda” thing.

LOVE Y'ALL! (No, really, I actually do.)

  1. I would like to see your meal plans posted. Or at least a sample of a meal plan breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. I know that food is not exciting to you, but you talk SO much about meal planning. I would LOVE a post on your actual plan. Or a instagram photo. I would love a grocery haul video explaining what you bought and how you will use it. Stuff like that.

  2. I would love to see some homebuying tips and tricks – my husband and I are looking to become homeowners and any advice would be helpful! 🙂

  3. I would love to hear about some legit at home jobs. We are ready to kick our debt to the curb but I don’t want to be gone from my kids. I would love what people are doing who “work from home”.

    • OOOOH this is a new one, the entrepreneur in me LOVES this idea! Adding it to the list, thanks!

  4. I love your Q&A’s, your practical tips on being frugal, your recommendations for high quality yet thrifty purchases, and your encouragement to make a budget and stick with it!

  5. I love everything you post! One thing I would love to learn more about is looking good on a budget- clothes, makeup, hair- I feel pretty comfortable with groceries but when it comes to being thrifty and looking good I’m at a loss! 😉

    • Sheesh, the struggle is real, right?? It’s a hard balance. Check out Youtube.com/funcheaporfree for several beauty videos where I share some of my best secrets, and also show a (super old) tour of my closet that I desperately need to update. Also http://funcheaporfree.com/category/lookin-good/ might help in the meantime before I get new content out. Thanks for reading!!!

  6. YAY! I’m hoping to meet you in person this year! Hoping for another shopping trip (I couldn’t attend the last one). Groceries are killing me so I really need to learn how to shop. I’d also love more info about freezing meals, prepping ahead, canning, etc. LOVED your post about that just before your last baby. Thanks for all of the great tips and advice!!

  7. hi, from NZ, I love all your posts and would love to see more money saving tips at the supermarket also more recipes.
Thanks and have a lovely week

  8. Hey Jordan,
Its your neighbor in Boise, ID…. Love, Love, Love your post. Working hard on the savings like you. I would love some tips and hints on living cheap but looking great! Thanks for all you do.

    • Great, I love posts like that! I tend to post frugal outfits on Instagram so follow there for sure, instagram.com/funcheaporfree. I’ll try to fit some in on the blog as well. I have lots of beauty videos on Youtube.com/funcheaporfree also. Thanks for the feedback!

  9. You mentioned in the beginning of the year how you and your husband planned out the year. Please please please! Go into more detail.

    • Yikes. Sue, I have to admit…we haven’t finished yet. We had a few crazy things pop up…a program that might’ve moved us to San Francisco (that didn’t pan out, can’t say I’m not grateful) and some other side projects that we’re waiting to hear back on that will completely alter the state of our year. So lately we’ve just been taking it month by month. I’m sorry I’m not more helpful! We are determined to sit down and work on the next 6 months so I’ll put a post on the calendar which will force me to put my booty in gear!!!

  10. I’m a first time mom and would love a post about breastfeeding/pumping. How do you multi-task while pumping or breastfeeding?

    • Oh boy, breastfeeding while multi-tasking is a necessary evil in my house. That’s why I invented my Bomb Shelter Cover (www.bombshelterbaby.com), because it was the only way I could do it without flashing people! It’s a tricky one, breastfeeding has never been easy for me. Maybe I’ll do a post about tips and tricks I learned along the way if that will help!

  11. I am anxiously awaiting the Europe tips due to my trip there this summer. Otherwise, I just love the variety of posts you do- recipes, budgeting, decor, makeup, travel…love it all! I am glad you are taking time with your family and will look forward to your future posts on Tues/Th!

  12. I would like to see more posts on meals and budgeting.
More new ideas on all areas.
    Also cheaper vacation destinations.
    Thanks!

  13. First let me say I love you blog! It’s crazy to have never met someone and talk about you and your family regularly to mine:) I have a 2 and 7 year old and naps and bed time around my house are terrible. I would like to see your bedtime routine and maybe tips on getting your kids to go to (and stay) in bed:)

  14. Pretty please do another 50% off sale on the Bomb Shelter covers! I missed the last sale & will need a new cover in the Fall.
