How to budget on a commission-based or inconsistent income!

Welcome to my new series, Q&A Tuesday! Each Tuesday throughout the summer I'm going to take a money/budget/frugal living question from my blog, YouTube, or social media, and answer it live on Facebook! Then I will post it on YouTube and blog sometime later in the week…which sure makes the “Tuesday” part of Q&A Tuesday confusing…sorry about that…#JustRollWithIt. Be sure to join me over on Facebook, so you don't miss out on the live broadcast and the ability to ask questions and interact with me!

This week's question was a topic that is all too familiar to our family and budget situation. For our entire married life we have been living off of commission-based, or self-imployed (aka super inconsistent) income. Many of my principles have been built on budgeting for such inconsistencies, so today I'm going to walk you through HOW to do it! Let's just jump right in, shall we?

My husband just recently got a sales job with a housing company. He left an extremely well paying job as a political advisor so he could be home with me and our 4 kids. I thought I had this budgeting thing down, but Iā€™m struggling to make ends meet now that his pay is less than half what it was before. And changes every week. Thank you for all your help! Serious inspiration! (@jlyoungplus4 on insta)

This is what I needed. Even though my hubbys income isn’t as consistent as commission based would be, it still is so dependent on the week. It’s so hard. But this gave me faith again that we can do it haha.
