Baby Girl is 2 weeks old now, so between her and my 18 month old I've had my hands tied. Cooking has NOT been on my to-do list, let's just say.
LUCKILY my mother is amazing and was here 2 weeks to help!

While she was here she made a few of her go-to favorites, and I thought I'd share this one with you. These biscuits are
(only 3 ingredients!!)
and are a GREAT treat or gift to take someone.
(Make some honey butter, put it in a cute jar, wrap it in a ribbon, and put the biscuits in a cute tin or box. You WILL be loved, I promise.)
Not to mention they are authentic Southern biscuits, recipe straight from Grandma Webster's kitchen. Can't argue with that.
Grandma's 5-Min Buttermilk Biscuits
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED:
3 Cups Self-Rising flour (must be self-rising!)
1/4C Vegetable oil
1 1/4C Buttermilk
HERE'S HOW YOU DO IT (sorry I don't have pictures, I'll get some soon!):
- Put the 3 cups of flour in a large bowl.
- Make a “hole” in the middle (just dig a little hole with your fingers or a spoon).
- Pour the 1/4C oil into the “hole”.
- Gradually pour the buttermilk in the flour/oil and mix with a fork until roughly mixed. Don't over mix! It will be chunky and lumpy.
- Knead the mixture with your hands in the bowl.
- Lay the dough out on a lightly floured surface.
- Roll it out with a pin so it's THICK (no one likes wimpy, thin biscuits!)
- Cut circles out of the dough using a glass or cookie cutter (whatever size you want your biscuits to be).
- Set on a cookie sheet and let them rise while your oven preheats to 400 degrees. (If your oven heats fast, let them sit an extra 5-10 minutes so they get bigger in size.)
- Put a little dab of butter on each biscuit.
- Bake for 10 minutes or so – until golden brown.
- Makes 6 or 7 biscuits.
That's it! Didn't I tell you that was easy?
Serve with some mighty-fine honey and you've got yourself a delicious side. Mmmm…
