Welcome back, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I know I did!
Well, let's just say a little something FINALLY came in the mail for me on Thursday….
Yes, folks. Not only is that my son eating breakfast and watching Barney in the background (they only way I can get him to eat in the morning…), and not only am I completely makeup-free, but YES…
I'm holding my new ipad2!
My hubby won me an ipad1 for my birthday (remember HERE?) and I traded it in for a new one. Unfortunately I had to wait 2 MONTHS for this darn thing to come, but it's here!
And I love it! I love it! I love it!
Here are some other fun ways we saved this weekend:
We went on a double-date with friends. We simply brought food to a park, ate dinner, walked around, talked, and enjoyed the amazing weather. It was great! Your dates don't have to be extravagant all the time. The purpose is to get to know each other anyway, right?
I even found a way to reuse food from a company party to make a new, yummy dish to bring to the park and share with our friends. I'll tell you about this for tomorrow's Foodie Tuesday.
All in all, the date was FREE, and it was fun. Enough said.
I went garage sale-ing for the first time! Woo hoo!
I mapped out my route, went early (as early as possible with a 15 month old tagging along), and found some AMAZING stuff. I'm totally hooked! I'll share my tips and tricks with you throughout the week (keep your eye out for “You're Welcome” Wednesday's tip) and maybe we can find some great deals together! 🙂
Here's how I made out:
I was mainly looking for baby/kid items, but (of course) found lots of other random stuff!
I found some great clothes at one sale:
The pic is blurry (sorry) but this brown shirt is from Buckle and still has the tags on it! Got it for $1 and got this collared shirt for my hubby for $2.
Surprisingly cute clothes in perfect condition, $1 each (H&M, Buckle, Gap, Aeropostale)
Yes, I even got a pair of real Sevens for $1! After I have my baby I'll try them on. If they don't fit I'll sell them to Plato's Closet and probably get about $20 for them!
This Buckle sweater they ended up giving me for free. It looks super hot on my hubby 🙂
I got 3 Pottery Barn pillows for $10 total, a great frame for $1, a storage bin and a bunch of place mats (we have the matching set, actually!) for $5, and a bunch of kid books for $0.25 each.
A bag of balls for my son for $1 (his new favorite toy…)
A Carter's crib bumper (perfect condition!) for $4. I'm going to re-cover it with new fabric for my little girl's room!
I also got this awesome tote for $1.
And some cute baby clothes for $0.25 each
I got these for $1.50 and $2.50
And a great Lands End kids snow suit for $2
I also got a big bag of yarn for $2 (not pictured). I'd say I did pretty well! I'm excited to go out again next week!
Saturday night we used our Salt Lake Passes
to get in to the Utah Blaze (indoor arena football) game for free. We met up with some friends and had a blast! Our little guys loved it especially:
Throughout the weekend I worked on a SUPER EASY quilt for a special someone. I'll teach you how to make your own on a Super Savvy Saturday project soon!
And that was our weekend! Pretty low-key, but great. How was yours??
