Make Change Happen.

Nov 4, 2013 | Finances, Get Out of Debt, Inspire, Lifestyle, Motivation, Our Home

3.5 years ago we hardly had money to pay our bills.
We had $10,000 debt on just one credit card.
I was a new SAHMom and Bubba had a new business & wasn't bringing home much of a paycheck. We looked at each other and decided we wanted a better life for ourselves; for our children. We decided we wanted to stop getting by, and start getting ahead.

We set firm goals and worked our tails off.

We sacrificed tons of good things, having faith that it would lead to great things.
And it has.

By working so hard we were able to get out of our situation in just one year.
We worked even harder for 18 months and now wake up every morning in our dream home.
And no, we aren't rich. By a long shot.

That, my friends, is what frugality is all about. Being frugal is not about giving up everything you love, but rather learning to get everything you love – the smart way. We have more, do more, and live more now than ever before…because of how frugal we are, not in spite of it.

This, folks, is the new frugal.

It's not what you thought it was.
It's not as hard as you think it is.
Don't get me wrong, yes, it takes hard work…but doesn't everything in life that is good, lovely, and of value?
But ultimately, it results in a life richer than you could have ever thought imaginable.
Richer in every sense of the word.

BUT…
Where to begin? Where to start? Is it even worth it? How can I possibly get ahead? How can we recover from everything that's happened to us? How will I possibly understand all of this? My head is swimming. How can we possibly figure this out on our own?
You don't have to.

My heart literally breaks with every email I read that includes a plea for help. I can feel the frustration, confusion, and hopelessness seep from every black and white letter. I'm here to help. I want to help. But I can't possibly help every person one-on-one, so I'm doing my best.

So join me at Frugality Boot Camp 2014.
It's not only fun, not only enlightening; inspiring even, but it's hope. It's hope for a brighter future, a better life, and more fun than you ever could've imagined for yourself.

Don't come for me, I don't actually make any money off your tickets. That's not why I do this.
Come for you; for your family.
Just come.
Let's figure this out together.

The best news? We are working out how to broadcast FBC'14 so you can watch it in your own home from anywhere in the world! More on that soon.

If you want your life to change, you can't sit around and wait for it to change for you.
Make. Change. Happen.

Seriously love you guys!
XOXO,

Is there a way that you could create a video of the boot camp? I would be willing to pay to see it. I just can't come to Utah for a few days. PLEASE!!!!!

Yes!! If you read the bottom of the post, the rumors are true…we will provide the classes virtually for those who can't attend. We re scrambling to make it happen and I feel confident that we will figure it out in time 🙂

Jordan, how much will the virtual classes be? I really can’t afford much being a SAHM going to school with four kids and my husband’s ridiculously small paycheck… 🙁

Yay! I hope you are able to broadcast it! There is no way I can make it all the way from Hawaii even though I totally wish I could.

This is a really cool post….exactly how I feel. You and others have aided my husband and I in creating a better life and I want to broadcast my successes too! Seems like the people around me don't want to hear it, though…..especially some family members. I want to help them badly, but they don't even want to listen it seems. So, sadly, I've stopped talking about it and maybe by our example they will see the difference. Thanks for doing what you do! I love your blog, love your Q&A's and can't wait to attend your boot camp in a few months! 🙂

So excited to be able to see the broadcast! I found your blog last Thursday when my fiance and I realized we need to get our money act together especially, since we are about to get married and turning 26 soon. I have been border line obsessive with putting all of your ideas into actions. I do have to say after committing to doing the "weekly budget" like you do in the past few days I can totally see my mind changing in how I look at money. I got us all budgeted out for November. Luckily we have been doing some saving and aren't in any debt. But that savings was really was helpful this morning when I had to take on of our dogs to the vet. Thank you so much for all of the posts you do! You have helped me more in the past 5 days then anyone ever could. So excited to see your bootcamp!!! 🙂

Have you ever though about spreading to other states? I have a huge interest and background in being frugal and would love to continue a workshop like this!

It’s incredible what you can accomplish when you, really, really want it and work your booty off!
