Exercise?: Intense at-home workout

Oh. Em. Gee.
I think I'm about to die. I did my first at-home workout, a tough (but totally manageable) circuit cardio workout. We started the workout at 10pm, after a long day of swimming, going out to eat, playing with my kids. It was just about the last thing I wanted to do tonight. In fact, when I turned to my husband and said, “ready to work out? We should, right?” I was secretly chanting “say no! say no! say no!” in my head, hoping he'd be my excuse for bailing out.
Darn you, Bubba.
I'm glad we did though. I knew that would be the case. I haven't formally “worked out” in years (just taking my dog on walks and playing with my kids) but I remember when I used to go to the gym all the time. The hardest part is getting there (or turning on the DVD in my case).
Once I'm done, I'm always glad I did it.
…but we'll see if I'm singing a different tune tomorrow when my hamstrings feel like they are about to cave in…
Over all, tonight was a little discouraging. I didn't really concentrate on what I was eating today too much, and ate way too much at dinner. I could hardly do the workout which was extra discouraging. I would say I did it at about 40% of what I should. Maybe even 30%, honestly. My legs especially are so weak, the jumping exercises were a huge wakeup call.

What's discouraging is to think of how much more I need to improve to get where I need to be. HOWEVER…I feel very hopeful and excited to think about where I WILL be if I can stick to this. Now I just really need to concentrate on what I'm eating. Maybe next time we go out to eat I'll opt for a salad or wrap or something. Yuck.

I CAN DO IT!
