I got an email recently from a FCF friend, Jenny, who had an awesome experience with being assertive. Remember how being assertive is the “A” in my F.A.C.T’s of saving??
Being assertive is taking courage, being bold, and ASKING for things. In this case, she asked for a discount and got it! Here’s what she said:
I bought this baby food making appliance about 3 weeks ago at full price, $59. Then I was at Walmart the other day and noticed that they had dropped the price practically in half. I happened to have the receipt with me so I took the box to customer service. They said they usually only refund if there is a price change during the 2 weeks after you purchase the item, but they still gave me back the difference. I’m glad I remember it never hurts to ask.
PS. It works great. Jenny
Wal Mart will refund the difference if a product goes on sale 2 weeks after you buy it?? Whaaaaa?! That’s awesome! Who knew?
You’d better believe I’m going to be taking advantage of that one…
Thanks for sharing, Jenny!
It’s smart to always keep your receipts, even if you think you’ll never need it. I keep mine in an envelope; this is also how I do my budgeting. See how HERE.
Have a happy weekend 🙂
